Getting Started

This guide walks you through the basics of using XCCY — from connecting your wallet to opening your first position.

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

XCCY is a non-custodial protocol.

  • Connect a supported wallet on the desired network.

  • Your wallet becomes your account — there are no deposits into centralized custody.

  • All positions, collateral, and risk live on-chain and are visible at all times.

Once connected, you’ll see your account dashboard, including collateral, margin mode, and available balance.

Step 2: Choose Your Margin Mode

Before trading, select how your collateral is managed:

  • Isolated Margin Each position is risk-contained. Collateral is tied to a specific pool.

  • Portfolio Margin Collateral is shared across positions and netted by risk. More capital efficient.

  • X-Mode (Clustered Margin) Optimized for highly correlated assets (e.g. ETH-like or USD-like). Enables the highest capital utilization.

You can change margin modes later, subject to risk constraints.

Step 3: Add Collateral

Deposit supported assets as collateral.

Collateral:

  • secures your positions,

  • determines your available margin,

  • is dynamically valued by the risk engine.

Some products may automatically route idle collateral into conservative strategies (e.g. XLP Senior) to improve capital efficiency.

Step 4: Choose What You Want to Do

XCCY supports multiple ways to participate. You don’t need to use all of them.

Common entry points:

  • Lock a Fixed Yield (Savings-style)

    • Earn a fixed APR for a defined term.

  • Borrow at a Fixed Rate

    • Lock borrowing costs in advance.

  • Trade Interest Rate Swaps (IRS)

    • Hedge or speculate on future rates.

  • Provide Liquidity

    • Earn fees by supporting rate markets.

  • Use Advanced Strategies

    • Arbitrage, market making, or hedged yield strategies.

Each product has a dedicated guide explaining how it works and how to use it.

Step 5: Monitor Risk & Positions

Once you open positions, keep track of:

  • health factor,

  • margin usage,

  • open orders,

  • accrued interest and PnL.

You can monitor everything through:

  • the web interface,

  • or the XCCY Telegram Bot, which provides alerts and real-time updates.

Step 6: Exit or Adjust Positions

Depending on the product:

  • Fixed Yield positions can be held to maturity or exited early at zero interest.

  • IRS positions can be closed at any time at market price.

  • Liquidity positions can be adjusted or redeemed based on pool rules.

All exits and adjustments are on-chain and transparent.
